CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
We provide Scouts with opportunities to practice ethical decision-making, leadership, and self-discipline. Activities like service projects, rank advancement, and troop leadership positions help Scouts grow into responsible and confident individuals.
CITIZENSHIP TRAINING
Our Scouts engage in civic activities like flag ceremonies, community service, and learning about their roles as active citizens. Being part of a military community adds a unique perspective on service and responsibility.
PERSONAL FITNESS
Outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, and physical challenges promote physical well-being, while troop meetings and activities foster emotional resilience and teamwork.

MILITARY COMMUNITY
Nestled in the heart of Marine Corps Base Quantico, Troop 0176 is a unique Scouting community made up of families from across the Department of Defense. While we are proud to be part of a military community, our troop remains rooted in the timeless ideals and methods of Scouting.
We prioritize the values of leadership, citizenship, personal growth, and outdoor adventure that Scouting represents. Our program is not "militarized" but is guided by the Scouting principles of youth-led decision-making, learning by doing, and fostering independence. At the same time, we celebrate the special camaraderie and sense of family that comes from being part of a shared military background.
In Troop 0176, every Scout is welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow, regardless of their connection to the military. Together, we embody the spirit of Scouting, building a community that thrives on trust, respect, and the pursuit of excellence. Whether you're new to Scouting or continuing a family tradition, we look forward to sharing the journey with you!
